{"id":109,"date":"2015-02-26T14:38:40","date_gmt":"2015-02-26T20:38:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/arboretumcohousing-org.cftvgy.org\/wordpress\/?page_id=109"},"modified":"2022-07-13T10:01:50","modified_gmt":"2022-07-13T16:01:50","slug":"some-arbco-people","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/arboretumcohousing.org\/wordpress\/?page_id=109","title":{"rendered":"Some Arbco people"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Oscar Bloch<\/h2>\n<p>After many years of eclectic and erratic work experiences and hedonistic rapture, I have settled down with my lovely and\u00a0understanding partner in Madison. \u00a0Living in a city where knowing too much is a virtue, I naturally gravitated to work in the rarefied atmosphere of energy policy, research and evaluation. \u00a0Fortunately, many other seditious fellows with far more talent have also embedded themselves in the Madison energy vortex.<\/p>\n<p>Amazingly, we have actually accomplished a good deal in the last twenty years. \u00a0It&#8217;s not a stretch to say that our work has led, in part, to the green standard of living that Arbco represents. \u00a0Arbco is the next step in my and the Madison community&#8217;s evolution.<\/p>\n<p>Being at heart a loner, it makes sense that I have moved into a community where everyone knows each other&#8217;s business. \u00a0I see Arbco as an unfinished landscape, with ample room to grow, and to make huge mistakes.<\/p>\n<h2>Janet Kelly<\/h2>\n<p>Janet Kelly has lived in Madison since 1978. \u00a0She lived for several years in France as a child, and then moved every six months or so with her Army family. \u00a0Some of her happiest memories are living for short periods in her grandmother&#8217;s working-class neighborhood in New Haven, Connecticut, where everyone had a porch and everyone knew each other. \u00a0 These experiences gave her some &#8220;un-American&#8221; Brendon is the primary caregiver for his son Calum. He manages Arbco&#8217;s community garden, &#8220;the farm,&#8221; and some of the compost bins around the property.<\/p>\n<p>Outside of ArbCo Brendon is a co-coordinator for <a title=\"Madison Storytellers website\" href=\"http:\/\/www.madisonstorytellers.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Madison Storytellers <\/a>. Brendon often hosts Madison Storyteller events at ArbCo. Brendon is also a former player and owner of<a href=\"http:\/\/atlasimprov.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Atlas Improv Co<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Emily Savage<\/h2>\n<p>I am Emily Savage. \u00a0I am from South Carolina! I moved to Wisconsin in 2002 and attended LaFollette High School for my junior and senior year! I like that at Arbco there is the feeling that there is always some way to help out and someone to help out! I chose Arbco, because I thought it would give me good support close by, and that it was not too large of a community!<\/p>\n<h2>Bill Sethares<\/h2>\n<p>Bill Sethares is a primate whose armspan (from fingertip to fingertip) is approximately the same as his height. \u00a0One of his earliest memories is of making noise; in a moment of foolishness, his parents allowed him to buy a saxophone with the money he got from selling seeds (his first failed foray into commercial activity). \u00a0In the ensuing years he has written songs with dead poets, songs in praise of the Fourier Transform, and song lyrics in Klingon and Ubbi-Dubbi. \u00a0During the day, he can be found loitering arounds the halls of the Department of Electrical Engineering. \u00a0He enjoys hanging out with humans, especially humorous ones, which explains why he likes cooperatives, cohousing, and Ann.
